I have recently been involved in researching and writing a series of papers on meeting nutritional needs on a vegetarian diet, which has been published as a supplement in the Medical Journal of Australia (MJA). The supplement includes papers on protein, iron, zinc, vitamin B12, omega-3, meeting the NRVs on a vegetarian diet and a practical paper showing how to put together tasty and nutritionally balanced vegetarian meals. The supplement was officially launched on 4th June at the Pavillion at the Royal Botanic Gardens where the audience (mostly journalists and dietitians) had the opportunity to hear about the key messages from the papers while enjoying a delicious vegetarian lunch.
